@aedjp Great link... I think there needs to be a competition for the most fonts used on one document. There is a huge font mistake in the CSS for this blog which I must fix, although no-one has pulled me up on it yet!

@Steve Nice blog! I have a twitterfone account, I just haven't used it yet. I must be addicted to trying to type using 12 keys. Which reminds me, I think I have a bluetooth keyboard somewhere... Wonder if it works with the N95? Now, where was it?..

I've had a play with Spinvox - and liked it.
I've been playing with the twitterfone beta,

Bit more niche, but kind of fun - and great for those slow texters (like me).

@Steve.
Ahh, Comic Sans. Probably the best font in the world - sadly still searching for the right context

Hi Lewis,

From an old post (e-mail or IM? How to get your point across).

* People handwrite at about 31 words per minute (wpm).
* A basic typist can reach 50-95 wpm, an advanced one above 120 wpm
* Conversations are around 200 wpm

Of course, that doesn't account for thinking time. I'm fairly confident that I didn't manage to write 31 WPM during my exam.

Very few typists can type up a conversation or take dictation in real-time. Very few. There again, there aren't many speech recognition products than can either!

Speech to text technology seems to be hitting prime time. How does typing and voice recognition compare from a productivity perspective?

Ah... Design... It is a curious thing! What strange creations desktop publishing unleashed on the world. I wonder what we will make of all this technology when we look back in a couple of decade's time?

...I still think you missed a trick not using Comic Sans for the logo - it works for the greengrocers round the corner from us ;)

I really need to investigate Spinvox - it looks like such a great technology, a really useful addition to the portfolio.

Looking forward to welcoming you back to the land of 'people with friends' after your exam-driven hermitage :)
